These started out as paintings for a bluebonnet coffee mug for my father-in-law to give to one of his and my mother-in-law's friends. It had something to do with her favorite mug, covered in bluebonnets, being broken. Who broke the coffee mug isn't exactly clear but I think she may have chipped it and he offered to see if he could grind it down. And it appears that ceramic and workshop grinders are not a good combo.
So I painted a long row of bluebonnets to wrap around a coffee mug. Later, I divided them into minimalist art print sets.
About a month ago a Texas lady ordered the bluebonnet print set to be sent to her friend who was retiring to another state. She gave her the prints to remember Texas and their friendship. I thought that was just the neatest thing.
